Terms and Conditions

Appointments

Whilst every care will be taken to ensure that the trainee receives the training at the requested time and with the instructor as booked, all bookings are made on the understanding that the school is not responsible for the postponement of training due to adverse weather conditions, mechanical breakdown of equipment, absence of staff or any other cause. Neither can the school be responsible for driving test appointments postponed by the DVSA. Lessons will start and finish at the agreed location. Lessons are a minimum of 2 hour in duration, but your instructor can offer longer periods if required.

Payments

Payments must be made 48 hours prior to any lesson/s booked. Cash and Bank transfers are accepted.

Refunds

Prepaid lessons, courses and gift vouchers are non-refundable if the trainee cancels any prepaid block or course that have already commenced then the lessons will be lost. Intensive course deposits are non-refundable. All prepaid lessons, courses and gift vouchers must commence within three months from purchase otherwise the value of the lessons will be forfeited, and no refund will be given.

If you have purchased a block of lessons for someone else, please inform them of the terms and conditions.

The block booking, gift vouchers and courses are none transferable, or for sale to a third party.

Prices

The price of lessons will be stated from the outset. Price increases will only be made when absolutely necessary and you will be notified well in advance of any such changes. (Unless a mutual agreement has been made with the trainer)

Cancellations

If you wish to cancel a lesson, you must notify your instructor 48 hours prior to your lesson. If for any reason you are unable to give adequate notice, we reserve the right to charge for the lost lesson in full.

The instructor will wait up to 15 minutes at the agreed location of the lesson, after which they reserve the right to cancel the lesson and you will be charged for the lesson in full.

In addition a re-scheduled lesson is also considered a cancellation. Therefore 48 hours must be given if you would like to change your lesson dates and times.

Theory & Practical Tests

Your instructor will advise you when to book your tests and how to prepare for them. The school reserves the right to withhold the training vehicles for the driving test if, in the instructor’s opinion, the trainee does not reach the required standard. We advise ALL tests are booked via the official GOV.UK website and not via a third party website to prevent fraudulent bookings etc.

On the day of your practical test, you will be charged for the use of your Instructor’s car. This fee usually covers 3 hours, but may vary due to locality and distances involved. In the event of your test being cancelled by the DVSA, you may apply to them for a refund of the test fee and also the cost of using the car. All tests must be paid for before the school books any tests given by the DVSA.

Fitness to Drive

If for any reason, your instructor feels you are unfit to drive, your lesson will be forfeited and you may still be charged. N.B. Some prescription medications can seriously reduce your ability to concentrate. Always check the label and consult your doctor, if necessary.

Code of Conduct

Your instructor has been highly trained and has passed the DVSA’s strict examinations. All our instructor’s are fully “Approved Driving Instructor’s” (ADI).
Standards are also checked periodically by the agency. Your instructor will always act in a professional manner, and provide a well-cared for and highly maintained vehicle. All our vehicles are fitted with dual-control pedals. Whilst every effort will be made to keep good time, road and traffic conditions, bad weather or mechanical problems may cause unavoidable delays in your instructor’s schedule. Your instructor will try to make up any lost time to you, or arrange another lesson as soon as possible and at your convenience.

Customer Satisfaction

We at Slondon Driving School, value our customers greatly and work hard to meet all their expectations in full. However, in the unlikely event that you are not completely satisfied with any aspect of our service, please discuss your concern, in the first instance, with your instructor.
